Chemin de Fer Essential Basics – Part 1

[ English ]

The general concept of the card game is to be assigned cards totaling up to twenty one. Each player is assigned two cards. When a blackjack player is given a nine or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been handed a soft hand. When the gambler receives no Ace it is known as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been handed to all players at the table, which includes the dealer, each player is provided the opportunity to make one of 6 decisions:

Taking another card (Hit): When a player says "hit" the dealer will give them another card, if the adding of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed 21 the gambler will have busted and that is the end of the game, if the card pushes the total to 21 the black jack player will be the winner and if the total has not yet reached twenty one they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a black jack player is happy with the cards they will stay. Once this has happened the croupier will reveal his or her hand and the black jack player who has accumulated twenty-one or the closet to twenty one will come away with a win.

Doubling Down: A player may request to double down which increases the bet by 100% they have placed. As soon as you have taken this procedure you can only be given one additional card. The details of doubling down are normally out lined by the table or betting house game rules so prior to gambling make sure you’re familiar with the casino established rules. If you are playing at a web betting house this is usually very simple.
